Cirque da Silva

I do feel as though I have been living in a circus lately. The other day we were planning on going to the library two blocks away. That shouldn't be too difficult, right?

It took us about 10 minutes to get out of the house. The reason being that Caeden has shoes scattered at various points throughout the house and garage. We found one in the toys, logical right, when you are asked to put your toys away you throw your shoes in the pile too. The other was found in the garage and a spider had taken up residence in it. The shoe is still in the garage with the spider, it was a scary enough looking spider that I was not going to mess with it. Back inside to find another set of shoes.

Finally four sets of shoes were found and four heads, big and small were ushered out the door. Remember Alison is part of this madness. Caeden insisted on holding the HEAVY bag of books. Although this was a struggle for him, it was a great help for me because I had to wrestle the two seater stroller around the van and out the small opening left in the door. I encouraged the two little ones to stay in the driveway and out of the garage so I would have room, obviously they wanted to come in the garage too. So here we were, me wrestling with the stroller with two slow moving toddlers in front. What does Caeden do, but puts the heavy bag of books around his neck. I got us all squeezed through the opening and set the stroller down so I could help Caeden. The stroller falls over and hits Alison in the leg, she is screaming. Camlyn automatically takes a run for the street. I am left wondering if they plan these sort of escapades. Maybe we should buy some wigs and face paint and charge admission.

No children were harmed in the making of this production.

Bye Bye Baby

Sometimes they grow up little by little so that you hardly notice it. Other times they grow up by leaps and bounds. Today was one of those leaps and bounds days. This morning I gave Caeden his clothes and asked him to get dressed. I laid Camlyn's clothes down with his and went off to finish getting ready myself. When I came back into the room Caeden was still running around in his pajamas but Camlyn was attempting to put his clothes on over his pajamas. After we got his pajamas off we finished getting dressed by himself, except for me helping to extract his arms from the head hole.
The plan for today was to take some toys into our favorite used store and then run some other errands. While there we found this cute little bed and couldn't pass it up. It is a big boy bed but it still has that crib feeling since it is more closed in than the newer versions. Our boy is adjusting nicely to the crib being gone. All except for the easy access out, this might be a problem. It is after 9 now and he still keeps poking his head in my door, "Hi."

Another feature of the cozy coupe is the sun roof. For once I am glad for the low ceilings in this house. They can't climb up and jump off like they were doing in the store.

That doesn't stop them from swing off it. Let's hope that it doesn't tip over on them!

All tucked in for the night! Notice his friends George and Cow. The kid does have a sense of humor. FYI Cow is really a horse.

If you look at the map you will see that our friends from Brazil have finally came to visit us. As I was trying to post this the Skyped us. Hoping to see a little dot all the way down there tomarrow. It takes awhile to catch up. Night, night all. Hope the boy stays in bed.

State Fair

Wow, what a day. So much to see and do.

Animals small and big. They got to pet the little pigs, ducks, and chicks. I know everyone wants to see a picture of the big boar. We got a picture of it but of the wrong end! Not a pretty sight on an animal that big.

Shows of every sort. Sorry it is sideways, I do seem to have problems with that. Not sure how to turn a video.

And the only thing more annoying than Bob the Builder Live is your toddler singing this song all afternoon, when he can't remember the words. No, the show wasn't really that bad.

The stunt dog show was really neat. This puppy was jumping rope.

The fair was so packed the kids were elated when we finally found a place for them to run and play and climb.

The fair was packed and most of the shows were standing room only. Too bad this seat faced the wrong way!

So what does 5 1/2 hours at the fair look like for Thing 1 and Thing 2? Time to go home!

Fire Station #2

Friday we had story time at the fire station. We got to climb up in the fire truck, tour the station, hear a story and watch a fireman put his duds on. Pretty big stuff for little guys. Can you guess what Caeden pretended to be all afternoon?
All ready to go.
Another stubborn picture, but a fair warning with these boys!
Don't be afraid when this guy comes into your rooms kids, he wants to help you. Let's just hope he doesn't have to ever come into our rooms!

Tar Heel Days

The little town that I grew up in has started up their town festival again. We took the boys to see the parade. Accidentally walked through the real "carnival" on the way to the little 4H carnival. Got Carnied into Caeden playing a game. Guess what folks he did really well, won two water guns! Caeden and Camlyn also participated in the tractor and pull and they both did well. We also accompanied mom to the greased pig contest. Teams of three men had to get a full grown pig into a barrel. I felt sorry for the poor pig, trying to pick the thing up by his ears! The contest was over fairly fast when one team figured out to bring the barrel to the pig and back him in. Got some shots on dad's camera. Hopefully we can get those up for all to see!

In Other News...

What is Caeden up to? Just a game of "horse feet."

Do you think everyone is feeling better around here? Looks like we are coming down with a case of cabin fever!
